do Brasil. Em uma primeira fase deste trabalho, as an{\'a}lises
caracter{\'{\i}}sticas f{\'{\i}}sicas e cinem{\'a}ticas das
c{\'e}lulas de nuvens e chuva. Caracter{\'{\i}}sticas
t{\'e}cnica ForTraCC, enquanto as caracter{\'{\i}}sticas
As an{\'a}lises evidenciaram que muitos
hPa) n{\'{\i}}veis, devido a advec{\c{c}}{\~a}o e
J{\'a} as
inferior a velocidade do vento do n{\'{\i}}vel de 700 hPa.
a dire{\c{c}}{\~a}o do movimento aparente (diferen{\c{c}}a
entre a propaga{\c{c}}{\~a}o e vento no n{\'{\i}}vel guia) das
c{\'e}lulas de chuva, geralmente devido a forma{\c{c}}{\~a}o de
novas c{\'e}lulas de chuva. Um modelo de propaga{\c{c}}{\~a}o
considerando o vento no n{\'{\i}}vel guia, ajustado pelo
ABSTRACT: In order to understand the
interactions between the atmosphere and the convection, that
define the rain and cloud cells movement, this work uses
satellite, radar and radiosonde data in different regions of
Brazil. In the first part of this work, the studies are carried
out in the Manaus region, during the rainy and dry season to
evaluate the physical and kinematic characteristics of the cloud
and rain cells. Physical and kinematic characteristics of rain
(radar) and cloud (satellite) cells were obtained using the
ForTraCC technique, while the environmental characteristics were
obtained through radiosonde performed in the T3 station in
Manacapuru. The analysis showed that many processes acted during
the convective systems (CS) evolution and contributed to
differences between rain and cloud cells movement. The cloud cells
movement was influenced by the wind field at high levels
(\$\sim\$ 250 hPa), resulting of the anvil advection, and
secondarily by the wind at low levels (\$\sim\$ 850 hPa), due
to the advection and development of new systems cells. In the
second part of this work, the study of the rain cells movement was
expanded to different regions in Brazil, with distinct
environmental characteristics, one tropical coastal, another in
the continental tropical forest and a third in the subtropical
region. Radiosonde triangles provided the environmental
characteristics such as the wind, CAPE gradient and vertical wind
shear, which allowed to evaluate the impact of these variables on
the rain cells movement. The results showed that the wind at the
level of 700 hPa can be used as a first approximation of the
precipitation field movement. However, the rain cells showed a
displacement speed lower than the wind speed at the level of 700
hPa. A fit using the vertical wind shear of the 0 - 6 km layer
considerably improves the estimation of the cells displacement by
the wind. The CAPE gradient was associated with the apparent
movement direction (the difference between cells movement and the
steering level wind) of the rain cells, usually due to the new
rain cells formation. A propagation model considering the steering
level wind, adjusted by the vertical wind shear, and the CAPE
gradient showed best results in the 20-minute forecast of the rain
cells movement. A comparison with other models showed that the
proposed model obtained the best performance in the rain cell
movement estimation.",
